How ODRM handles the information you share with us.
Last updated: [REQUIRES YOUR CONFIRMATION — set the date you approve this policy]
ODRM (Occupational Diving Risk Management) provides independent guidance to regulators, project owners, prime contractors, and safety professionals about the risks associated with occupational diving. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who visits this website or contacts us through it.
Who we are
ODRM is an independent advisory practice based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. [REQUIRES YOUR CONFIRMATION — add your legal entity name and, if applicable, registration number, and a physical/mailing address if you wish to publish one.]
What we collect
If you contact us through the contact form, we receive the name you enter, your email address, and the message you write. If you choose to include a phone number, we also receive that. We do not collect your name, email, or any other personal information just by browsing this website.
How we use your information
We use the information you send us only to respond to your inquiry and to carry on the conversation you asked for. We may keep a record of correspondence so we can refer back to it accurately. We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose other than responding to you, unless you ask us to.
Our legal basis and consent
ODRM operates in Canada and handles personal information in accordance with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. When you send us a message, you are consenting to us collecting and using the information you provide for the purpose of responding to you. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us using the details below.
What we never do
- We never sell or rent your information.
- We never share your details with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We do not use analytics or advertising scripts on this site, and we do not use cookies that track you across other websites.
Third-party processors
We use a third-party email delivery service to send messages we receive through the contact form to our own inbox. [REQUIRES YOUR CONFIRMATION — the current implementation uses Resend; confirm the provider and, if you wish, the specific countries where that provider processes data.] We do not allow that provider to use your information for any purpose other than delivering our email.
How long we keep your information
We keep contact correspondence only as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain an accurate record of business communication. [REQUIRES YOUR CONFIRMATION — choose and state a retention period; a reasonable default is 24 months, or longer if required by law or by your professional obligations.]
How we protect your information
Your messages are transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and are stored on access-controlled systems. Access to your information is limited to those who need it to respond to you. While no system is completely secure, we take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us.
Your discretion
We respect your privacy. Any information you share will be handled with discretion, and names or identifying details will not be used without your clear approval. Any commentaries or case discussions we publish are written without identifying individuals or their projects.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You may also withdraw consent to our use of your information. To make any of these requests, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days, as required by PIPEDA.
