Standards
The Standards That Guide Our Work
Occupational diving is a regulated activity. ODRM's risk assessments and dive plans are grounded in the standards that govern diving operations in Canada and abroad.
The CSA Z275 series of standards is the backbone of occupational diving safety in Canada. It sets out the conduct of commercial diving operations, the occupational health and safety requirements for dive teams, and the equipment and marking standards dive teams rely on.
Beyond Canadian standards, ODRM works against the international and regulatory frameworks that apply to the operation at hand, including those published by national regulators and recognized diving-assurance bodies. The applicable standard always depends on jurisdiction, depth of operation, breathing apparatus, and the nature of the work.
Where a client has its own project standards, ODRM reconciles them against the governing regulatory baseline and flags any conflicts before work begins.
